Bowling: US win S'pore Open

Jazreel Tan came close to delivering a home win at the 44th Singapore International Open championships.

But an open frame in the deciding game of the women's final allowed American Kelly Kulick to grab the title on her first visit to the Lion City.

Jazreel beat Kulick 215-196 in the first game but went down 226-210 in the second.

The professional bowler from
New Jersey took home the women's top prize of S$6,000.

The men's final saw the UAE's Shaker Al Hassan overturning top qualifier Khalid Al Dubyyan of Kuwait over two games.

This is the second Singapore Open win for Al Hassan, who took home S$20,000.

Singapore bowler Remy Ong finished in third place.
