William and Kate marry as world watches

Prince William married Kate Middleton in regal splendor at London’s Westminster Abbey Friday as huge crowds and a global TV audience watched Britain’s biggest royal celebration for three decades.
Kate, wearing a stunning ivory and white satin wedding dress with long lace sleeves, a veil and a flowing train, stood composed at the altar with the second in line to the throne who wore a smart scarlet military tunic.

Members of the royal family, friends, foreign dignitaries and royal families from around the world, have begun arriving at Westminster Abbey inLondon to celebrate the marriage of Prince William, the second in line to the throne, and Kate Middleton.
Thousands of wellwishers have lined the 1.5-mile route to the abbey, which has itself been inundated with tourists watching the arrival of the 1,900 guests since 8:15am. David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and David Furnish, and Prince Harry's friend Chelsy Davy were among those to arrive before 10am.

Who's the real princess?

Kate Middleton isn't the only commoner preparing to become a princess. Little girls flock to Orlando in Florida every day to get princess makeovers at Walt Disney World. 

They can cost up to US$190, and eager tourists frequently make bookings for their daughters' fairy tale day up to six months in advance.

Kids as young as five-year-old Nadia Woodrow gets the royal treatment at Florida's Disney World's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. These kids get royal hair-dos, make-up and nail polish to make them look like their favourite Disney princesses.

Fed chief says jobs, housing holding back US recovery

High unemployment and a sclerotic housing market are holding back the US recovery, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on Friday.
