Afghanistan’s cricket team will become the first foreign national side to play in Pakistan, two years after internationals were suspended over security fears, an official said Saturday.
International cricket has been suspended in Pakistan since March 2009, when gunmen attacked a convoy carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team in the eastern city of Lahore.
“Afghanistan will send its national team to Pakistan in July and play the Pakistan ‘A’ team

Jodie Foster is bullish on 'The Beaver'

As she has crisscrossed the country tirelessly promoting her latest directorial effort, "The Beaver," Jodie Foster has been keeping in touch via text with Mel Gibson. When the star of your film is also your close friend and Hollywood's leading persona non grata, the messages can get a tad awkward.

"Mel said, 'I will be dragged through gravel for you,'" Foster said in Beverly Hills. "He's been in Costa Rica. I texted him back, 'I don't want you to be dragged through gravel for me. Please do not.'"

Left hanging in the air is what, if anything, Foster does want from Gibson at this point. His personal scandals delayed the film's release for months, prevented him from participating in the movie's publicity and threatened to hijack the message of "The Beaver," a tale of a toy company executive battling

Kathryn Bigelow: 'It's hard to get finance for a female director'

How did it feel to have The Hurt Locker bag six Oscars, two for you personally, for Best Motion Picture and Best Director?
It was the best gift I could have ever imagined and I'm overwhelmed by every response I've received. There's no way to describe it. It was the moment of a lifetime! First woman director to win an Oscar, a BAFTA, a Guild of America Award...
Will your pioneering achievement help the cause of women in Hollywood?
Thanks for all the beautiful words but I just think of myself as a filmmaker and wish that some day this gender difference will not be a part of human beings. If I could motivate young blood to tell good stories, I'd be gratified.
During a recent interview, Mira Nair admitted that Hollywood

Liam Neeson's Cameo in 'The Hangover Part II' Has Been Cut

When the trailer for The Hangover Part II came out, we did not see anything regarding Liam Neeson's cameo as the Bangkok tattoo artist (who we assumed was responsible for Ed Helms' incredible Mike Tyson tattoo). We accepted this though, because it wasn't like Todd Phillips was going to put the most exciting parts of the movie in the trailer -- especially since he knows we're going to see it anyway and it's not like he has to do anything fancy in order to get us to show up in the theaters. But it turns out that unfortunately, Liam Neeson's cameo in the movie was cut. Variety reported the reason for its removal, and it was because Phillips wanted to re-shoot the scene, but Neeson was not available. So the role was then handed off to Nick Cassavetes, who just gave Lindsay Lohan a job in his upcoming Gotti movie. But quite honestly, I think Phillips could have tried a little harder and taken a second jab at getting Clinton.
