Cricket: Shehzad's century steers Pakistan to victory

Opener Ahmed Shehzad struck his second one-day international hundred to anchor Pakistan to a confident seven-wicket victory over West Indies on Monday.

Shehzad hit seven fours and one six in his 102 from 148 balls as Pakistan successfully chased 221 for victory in the second ODI at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.

Umar Akmal carried the visitors over the threshold with 12 balls remaining when he lofted a delivery from Dwayne Bravo to long-off for the final boundary of the match.

The result means that Pakistan take a 2-0 lead in the five-match

David Beckham's soft drink video stirs debate,

David Beckham's 69-second video showing him bending three footballs into a trio of far away rubbish bins on a California beach has received more than 1.3 million hits on YouTube.

But Beckham was somewhat evasive when asked in Toronto on Tuesday if the amazing video, done for a popular soft drink label, was real or doctored.

"Of course," the former England captain said told the Toronto Star. "I spent five or six hours on the beach so I had a lot of time to practice."

Wearing khaki shorts and a white shirt, Beckham puts down a soft drink he is holding and drifts three ball into the rubbish bins while

Football: Man Utd through to semis

United Kingdom: Manchester United powered into the semi-finals of the Champions League here Tuesday, downing Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford to clinch a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Goals from Mexican striker Javier Hernandez and South Korean international Park Ji-Sung either side of a lone Chelsea effort from Didier Drogba clinched a deserved victory for United in front of 74,672 fans.

The win put Sir Alex Ferguson's side into a semi-final against either Schalke 04 or holders Inter Milan, who play each other on Wednesday.

"Overall we were the better side, though, it was

Football: Carroll's double hits Manchester City's Champions League hopes

Record signing Andy Carroll delivered a blow to Manchester City's Champions League ambitions as Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory over Roberto Mancini's side at Anfield on Monday.

Carroll helped himself to his first two goals in a Liverpool shirt since joining from Newcastle for 35 million pounds in the January transfer window.

Dirk Kuyt also netted on a torrid night for City, who lost captain Carlos Tevez to a suspected hamstring injury ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with neighbours Manchester United at Wembley.

Mancini's expensively-assembled side has now failed

Football: Portuguese trio, Villarreal shine in Europa League

Spanish side Villarreal and Portuguese giants FC Porto put their Europa League-winning credentials on show with 5-1 wins apiece in the first leg of the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Three Portuguese sides -- Porto, Benfica and Sporting Braga -- are among the last eight of Europe's second tier club competition, boosting the chances of an all-Portuguese final at the Dublin Arena on May 18.

While 2004 Champions League winners Porto impressed with a 5-1 crushing of Spartak Moscow, Madrid-based Villarreal were just as impressive on their way to the exact same scoreline against hapless Dutch side FC Twente.

Football: Real Madrid rout 10-man Tottenham

Real Madrid put a giant foot in the last four of the Champions League with a thumping 4-0 home win over 10-man Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-final first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

A headed brace from Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor and late goals from Angel di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo put Tottenham to the sword in Madrid's fifth straight home win in Europe and a four-goal lead gives Tottenham a mountain to climb in the second leg at White Hart Lane on April 13.

Tottenham, who last reached a European Cup semi-final back in 1962, were left to rue the early sending off of striker Peter Crouch on 15 minutes for a late lunge as Real made the ten men pay.

Football: Man Utd aim to break Chelsea hoodoo

Manchester United will be chasing their first victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in nearly a decade on Wednesday as the English giants collide in a heavyweight Champions League quarter-final.

United are riding high in the Premier League after a weekend which saw them open up a potentially decisive seven-point lead at the top of the table, leaving them firmly on cause for a record 19th title.

But Sir Alex Ferguson is only too aware that there are few more demanding propositions for his team than facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where the Red Devils have not won since 2002.

Perhaps more pertinently, Chelsea have won
