A jury took less than hour on Friday to convict a man of attempting to burglarize Paris Hilton’s home last year while the heiress was inside.
Nathan Lee Parada, 31, was convicted of first-degree attempted residential burglary and faces up to three years in prison when he is sentenced on June 29, said district attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison.
Hilton testified this week about her and her boyfriend being awoken early on Aug

Singapore Repertory Theatre to stage "grittier, dirtier" version of "Macbeth"

The Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) will stage Shakespeare's "Macbeth" in Fort Canning Park from April 28 as part of its Shakespeare in the Park initiative.

But it won't be a 'play' in the traditional sense – the SRT aims to immerse the audience in the action by weaving the outdoor environment into the production's storyline for the very first time, instead of just keeping the action on stage.

"We are treating the play like a Hollywood thriller, fully embracing the opportunities [Fort Canning] Park offers ... with sound, light, music and murder happening all around the audience," said "Shakespeare in the Park – Macbeth" director Nikolai Foster in a pres

Cambodia accuses Thailand of temple damage in clashes

Cambodia on Monday accused Thailand of damaging ancient jungle temples at the centre of their bloodiest fighting since a bitter border dispute flared up almost three years ago.

Twelve soldiers have died and tens of thousands of villagers on both sides fled the artillery shelling, which shattered an informal ceasefire that had held since February when the UN Security Council called for a permanent truce.

The fighting resumed again on Monday afternoon with several shells fired, both sides said, as usual blaming each other for the violence.

Movie Review

anny McBride, Natalie Portman, James Franco and Justin Theroux star in David Gordon Green's medieval fantasy-adventure about a dope-smoking masturbator.

Great screen comedies that feature a severed Minotaur’s penis as a key prop are, sadly, few and far between. Your Highness aspires to such greatness but falls instead into a deep chasm of such comic lowness after less than five minutes that it’s unable to extricate itself. Things get so bad you half expect a cameo by Nicolas Cage.
The surprises here are twofold: One is that David Gordon Greenwhose early films such as George Washington and All the Real Girls showed genuine promise, agreed to direct. The other is that Green and producer Scott Stuber assembled such a talented cast for such a feeble script. The result is like watching an All-Star basketball game where everyone throws up bricks. Box office should be an air ball.
Mel Brooks used to do things like this in his sleep
