Cyndi Wang battles cosmetic surgery rumours

Taiwan singer-actress Cyndi Wang on Tuesday denied allegations that she had gotten a nose job recently, reported Taiwan media.

Tabloids claimed that Wang's features seemed to have changed after she recovered from a serious infection in March and pointed out that her nose looks better now.

"These heartless people!" Wang joked during an appearance at a press event for a Taiwan cable channel.

However, she adopted a more serious tone soon after.

"My mother read these
false reports and became very angry," said Wang.

"We [celebrities] are public figures and a lot of things regarding us are widely reported, but excessive, untrue reports hurt our friends and family. Hopefully, everyone will stop making up such news."

The 28-year-old said that she only looked better because she is happier as she had finally "gotten enough sleep" while she was hospitalised for her infection, "exercised regularly and took a lot of vitamins".

In March, Wang was in the midst of shooting her upcoming idol drama when a small sore just above her lips became badly infected, causing her face to swell and her skin to break out in rashes due to her weak immune system.

She was hospitalised amidst fears that she could get disfigured but she eventually managed to pull through.
