Kara to remain intact, disputes resolved: DSP Media

Korean girl group Kara's management company DSP Media announced Thursday that the three Kara members, Nicole Jung, 20, Kang Jiyoung, 17, and Han Seung-yeon, 23, who had previously wanted to leave the group, will stay on, reported Korean media.

"All disputes between DSP Media and the three Kara members have been resolved. We have reached a compromise," said DSP Media in a statement.

The statement also said that the three girls who wanted to depart from the group "have agreed to unconditionally drop their lawsuit", adding that Kara will resume promotional activities as a complete
group in the near future.

This comes almost 100 days after Jung, Kang and Han filed a lawsuit in February to terminate their contracts with management company DSP Media over alleged unfair treatment.

Nasty tit for tat public exchanges between DSP Media and Landmark, the legal representatives of the 3 girls who want to leave, followed soon after.

What made this whole dispute go away? Kang's father shed some light on the matter in a recent television interview.

"The three youngsters (Jung, Kang and Han) want to work and take part in promotional activities but they couldn't [due to the disputes].

"They suffered a lot emotionally so we all felt it is better to try and resolve the matter with DSP Media," said Kang's father in a television interview, noting that all the parties involved have since reached a satisfactory compromise.

"It will be awkward at first (for the group), but things should get better over time."
