Singapore lose 0-2 to Yemen

In football, Singapore lost 0-2 to Yemen in the first leg of their Asian Round One Men's Olympic Preliminary Competition.

The match was played at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium in Al-Ain, the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.

Yemen opened accounts in the 38th minute, when their forward Salleh scored after a defence splitting pass by Munassar Awadh.

They doubled their lead in the 55th minute after a cross by defender Hussein Ahmed caused confusion in the Singapore defence, allowing forward Al Khader to net the goal.

The second leg of the match will be played on Monday at 11.45pm Singapore time.
