Singapore Red Cross Youth marks 60th anniversary

The Singapore Red Cross Youth marked its 60th anniversary on Friday.
More than 450 past and present members attended a dinner to celebrate the occasion.

The organisation aims to get youths to champion blood donation advocacy, first aid and international humanitarian law.

Its director, Mr Ling Khoon Chow, said membership has grown consistently, with over 5,000 members today. He said
going forward, the organisation hopes to work with youths in schools to come up with a curriculum focusing on character and leadership development.

He said: "We are keenly aware that we want to work with the Ministry of Education in delivering a student-centric, values-driven education to our youths in the Red Cross."
