2PM's Nichkhun gets off with 4 million won fine for drink driving offence

SEOUL: K-pop boy band 2PM's Nichkhun will get off with a 4 million won (S$4,400) fine for his drink driving offence in July, authorities said in a statement on Thursday, reported Korean media.

Nichkhun's car collided with a motorcyclist on July 24, and the 24-year-old star was later found to have a blood alcohol level marginally above the legal limit.

In its statement, the Seoul Supreme Prosecutors Office said there will not be "any further investigations" regarding the
case.

It explained that a fine was sufficient as Nichkhun's blood alcohol level was low, and there were no serious injuries involved, pointing out that both parties have already settled the matter.

Nichkhun has become one of K-pop's brightest stars since his debut with 2PM in 2008, but has been on hiatus since the drink driving incident.
