SRK addressed as 'Salman' in a press meet

Mobbed by fans who refused to let go, then addressed as 'Salman' at a press meet, SRK kept his composure

The surging, thronging, roaring crowd that hung on to the railing of the three storeys of this mall, where Shah Rukh came calling, was also spilling all over the mile-long red carpet. "Hum 4 baje se khade hain, and we've got the best view, see," said a 15-something, as she proudly showed us how she was going to click SRK as he'd walk past.

And finally, SRK sauntered in to a mighty roar from the crowd that threatened to shatter every glass pane visible. He began to shake hands with those on either side, but soon realised the folly of doing that as they simply refused to let go of his hand. In fact, more than once, his bodyguard had to forcibly separate SRK's hand from those of the aam junta.

All that waving, and air-kissing and 'I love you Delhi' done with, Shah Rukh walked in for the press conference. It was a smartly organised thing, with all the possible questions that could be asked handled in a 'conversation' between SRK and VJ-turned-actor Gaurav Kapoor. But still, someone managed to spoil the day by addressing SRK as 'Salman'. He blanched for a second, and then jested, "Yaar, ya toh apna naam theek kar le, ya mera theek se bula le."

Shah Rukh went to a bowling alley after that, and there, with childlike enthusiasm, tried his hand at bowling. And then, he went on to give interviews, before heading to Gauri's home in Delhisometime around midnight.

A member of his entourage told us, "Saab aaj subah 2.30 baje se uthay hain. Travel kar rahe thay. Thak gaye honge." But none of that showed on the Badshah's face, as he got ready for yet another photoshoot. After all, superhero thode na thakta hai?

Shah Rukh bola...
"Ok, now you can ask me anything you want to know about my personal life and I will lie about it."

"Oscars? Ab toh mil hi gaya samjho. But jokes apart, I don't think "Ra.One" will be the chosen one for the Oscars from India. When "Paheli" was chosen, I was shocked, and phir, hopeful ke ab toh Oscar mil hi gaya. Ab main kuch boloon toh controversy ho jayega."

"The "Ra.One" suit – I had to wear a suit inside, like the snorkelling suit, and then put on this costume. Thankfully, the suit came with three ladies who help you put them on. But jokes apart, I had to put on powder, and then be wired, and there were 10 different suits – one to stand, one to bend, one for the action scenes, etc. It took 45 minutes to put one on, and I couldn't be inside it for too long either. I couldn't even go to the bathroom. Post this film, I now firmly believe that it is always better to be naked."
