Amrita fine being 'the girl-next-door'


Bollywood is full to the brim with actresses who would do almost anything to look like and be known as glam dolls. 

But Amrita Rao, whose simple, 'girl-next-door' image has got her some of her most successful films, begs to differ. The underrated actress once again lives up to her image in Rajshri Productions'Love U Mr. Kalakaar, directed by S Manasvi.

This is the same banner which had turned her simple looks into an asset and given her stardom with her super hit, Vivah. And Amrita says she's perfectly comfortable with the image, thank you. "Any day, I would prefer to be seen and known as this simple, girl next door, who is modern, smart, intelligent and is the life of a party," says the beauty. "I think it's much better than being a super glam-doll who is self-obsessed, boring and a big snob," Amrita adds. Well, with a simple girl image, if one can get to work with the likes of Sooraj Barjatya, Shyam Benegal, Raj Kumar Santoshi et al, who would want to meddle with it?
