S'pore's electronic industry achieved record high in 2010

Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB) said 2010 was a record year for the electronic industry.

Singapore's electronic manufacturing output grew 26.9 per cent to reach S$89.9 billion, surpassing global industry growth of 9.3 per cent.

The industry also attracted S$5.8 billion in fixed asset investment commitments and S$1.9 billion in total business spending.

EDB said this will result in more than 2,600 jobs in the next few years.
