Bieber fever strikes Singapore

It was a straight on bieber fever when Justin Bieber landed in Singapore.

Dressed in black with a pair of shades, Bieber looked slightly jet-lagged when he met the media at the Singapore Indoor Stadium but the media-friendly 17-year-old still managed to hold court.

Bieber, who rose to fame from YouTube in 2008, is one of the biggest stars in this century with millions of fans world-wide.

He became a boy in an instant, lighting up when he received a skateboard for sweeping over 600,000 albums off the shelves in Southeast Asia alone.

With overpowering success in the music industry under
his belt, the young musician intends to try out movie making after his monumental movie "Never Say Never".

"I think the music is most important. I don’t think I’m gonna stop doing music. But I definitely wanna explore movies and different stuff like that. I’m trying to get better and hopefully do a movie soon.

"[Never Say Never] was a true story. That was my life, I wasn’t really acting. They just followed me around with a camera, so that wasn’t really hard for me."

When asked for his ideal co-star, Beiber didn’t hesitate. "Jessica Alba", he gushed like any teen.

And like any teen, Bieber’s voice is set to see some change but the young man isn’t worried about that fact of life affecting album sales.

"You know, I think the transition is going to be smooth. I’m just taking it one step at the time."

Bieber’s future plan includes widening his appeal to not only teens and tweens, but adults as well.

"My next album is going to be more mature. I still want to reach audiences young to old. I just wanna make good music and that’s what it’s all about."

Superstar status can come with a cost, as the likes of Britney Spears have shown. But privacy, drugs and depression issues aren’t on the horizon for Bieber who is determined to keep his life on the right track.

"I wanna be known as someone like a stamp on the music industry, someone who did things differently and someone who stays a good person and stay to true he was.

"I just wanna be known as someone who people can look out too. I’m not gonna be perfect, I’m human, but I’m gonna try my best. I just wanna be known as a great person.

Fans made Justin Bieber who he is today and they remain one of the best things in his life.

"It doesn’t really matter where I go, I will always have fans waiting for me, that’s really special to me."

Unfortunately, Singapore fans who were waiting for the Canadian artist didn’t get to feel very special when Bieber touched down at Changi Airport, and slipped out with his entourage at the Jet Quay CIP Terminal.

The reason was security, Bieber explained, "If I were to go to the front it wouldn’t be safe for me, so I didn’t go through the front.

"I love my fans, but I can’t be put in situations where I can be in danger, because sometimes the fans get a little crazy and they will just grab me."

So determined were his Singapore fans to get up close and personal with Bieber, that hours before the concert, the back entrance of the Indoor Stadium was thronged by crowds of young children accompanied by parents, and teens and tweens dressed in purple or Bieber shirts armed with banners and posters.

At another part of the stadium, there were fans literally screaming to get in with free tickets to the one-night show.

And the scream fest didn’t end there.
