Obama speaks on Libiya


 As pressure mounts on President Obama to speak to the American people about the U.S. effort in Libya, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters that Mr. Obama intends to do that soon.
“The president, I can tell you with great confidence will speak about this in the relatively near future.”
As he was peppered with questions about exact timing, Carney added "not today."
Critics have called on the president to provide more clarity on the mission and better define an exit strategy.
White House aides have insisted that the president has been clear about the U.S. engagement in Libya as a means to protect innocent civilians from certain massacre and maintain stability in the region.
Nonetheless, addressing the issue will give the president another chance to explain “how he made his decision, what objectives are and why he thinks it’s the right thing for the United States and for the American people,
