The Great Gatsby Film Review

Hollywood does not have a good track record when it comes to the adaptation of the classic American novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is, and Peter Travers seriously Leonardo says a new version by Baz Luhrmann, starring DiCaprio, continues the trend. But Travers, this new Gatsby is more of a "bitter disappointment than a disaster, because it is a mind to go there again, although this spirit is crazy."

Just as Gatsby (DiCaprio) throws everything on Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan), that she loves him, Luhrmann throws everything and the kitchen sink in this film, also in the 3D movie. The most striking effect is known as the best friend of Gatsby, Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), presented portrayed in the book, the words that come in the way of the screen and fall on your head like confetti. As already Travers, Gatsby shows that if you officially can properly do it in 3D.

While praising the Travers is DiCaprio turn in the film - "it seems that you actually have an idea about the character that you play" - the other artists are buried in the artifice, reinforced by a contemporary soundtrack of Jay trend produced-Z is in conflict with the Jazz Age setting of the story. "I regret to say," Travers concluded, "that while I admire the effort in this, what I see on this screen is just boring, artificial and scary."
