With an average 1.3 adults rating and a dominant 9.4 million viewers for the night, CBS started Friday with an encore of NCIS. A boosted CSI: NY (up 17 percent to a 1.4 adults rating) followed, with Blue Bloods (up eight percent to a 1.4 adults rating) closing the night.

Kitchen Nightmares saw a sharp drop from last year's September opener, down seven tenths of a point for a 0.9 rating with adults 18-49. Fringe, also down 10 percent, posted a 0.9 with adults. The network had a 0.9 adults rating for the night and 2.7 million viewers.
America’s Next Top Model was down a tenth of a point on The CW, earning a 0.4 rating with 18-49-ers, while Nikita dropped to a 0.2 in the demo after last week's 0.3 premiere. The network averaged a 0.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 966,000 viewers.
